The Search

The Search

I was inspired to write The Search by my own search for my birth family which took over 30 years.

I thought that despite the happy reunions shown on TV surely not all eventually turn out well. Perhaps some people may regret tracing their long lost relatives?

A novel about searching for your long-lost family, partly based on the author’s own search for her birth family, which shows how recent advances in DNA have transformed this type of search, and opened up many new possibilities. But also shows that not all family reunions can be happy.

About the author

About the author

After various jobs ranging from Veterinary nurse, PA to a fabric designer and Accountancy, I enrolled on a Creative Writing course at Sussex University where I wrote my first novel 'Unwanted Truths'.

I've also been a volunteer for an adoption charity helping people trace their birth families and more recently a volunteer for Citizens Advice.

I'm married with two daughters and live in Brighton. I enjoy the Sussex countryside, natural history, reading, research, travelling, family get-togethers, and Luca our family cat.
